Godwin Motors donates another car to Cooperative Ministry’s Autos for Opportunities

Godwin Motors used car donations Columbia, SC

Many of us have gone through the struggles of living paycheck to paycheck. It’s a difficult battle and can be overwhelming when you need to find a way to travel to and from work. Vehicles are expensive, especially on a limited budget. Our Godwin Motors family continuously strives to give back to the Columbia, SC community and provide quality, affordable vehicles to shoppers throughout the area. As a proud supporter of the Cooperative Ministry’s Autos for Opportunities program, our team is thrilled to have helped another one of our neighbors in need.

Kenya Jenkins was working at a fast food job and had to rely on friends and family to get her where she needed to go. That all changed on May 16th when Jenkins received a 2010 Dodge Avenger from the Cooperative Ministry’s Autos for Opportunities program. The car came from the team here at Godwin Motors, and we’ve already donated three cars to the program and plan to donate three more as part of our efforts to give back to people in need (you can see more about that mission on our community page). Jenkins, a mother of four, completed the application process and attended classes on financial sustainability, which made her eligible to receive the car.

Jenkins was extremely grateful for the car, and noted that she’ll be working toward getting her commercial driver’s license (CDL) so she can be a long-distance hauler.
